May 28: Tour de Victoria http://www.tourdevictoria.com/ – Ryder Hesjedal, the 8th ranked professional cyclist in the world, who placed 7th in the prestigious Tour de France last year, has invited people to Victoria, British Columbia on May 28th, 2011, to ride on his favorite roads that he used himself to train for the Tour de France.

All proceeds from the Community ride will be donated to Power to Be Adventure Therapy Society, a charity helping to improve the health and quality of life for youth, adults and families facing significant life challenges.

The Tour will cater to participants of all ages and fitness levels, offering a choice of three distances: 140km for the enthusiast, 90km for the entry level rider and a community ride of 1-20 km for beginners, families and those who want to see what cycling is all about.

The route will start and finish in downtown Victoria and travel down many of the scenic cycling routes in the capital region used by Hesjedal to train for the Tour de France.

Early Bird Registration ($150) ends February 1. Over one third of the 1500 registration slots are already sold!

VIP registrants ($750) will have the opportunity to meet and spend time with Ryder himself!

    Hi there-Just a little note that it is too bad that you have to be 16 to do the 90km ride. My 12 year old son wants so much to do it. His father would ride with him also.
    If the rules change, maybe an announcement can be made.
