March 17 Art in the Park (Drop-In Event) -Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park – FREE – All Ages
Join a CRD Regional Parks’ naturalist to create nature-inspired activities and crafts. Drop by anytime between 11am and 2pm at the nature centre in the main Beaver Lake parking lot.

March 19 Spring Fling (Drop-In Event) Francis/King Regional Park – FREE – All Ages
Come and explore the sights, sounds and smells of spring! Join in the celebration with CRD Regional Parks’ naturalists for exhibits, crafts, critters – fun for the entire family! All ages welcome. Meet at the nature centre off Munn Rd.
Time: 1:00pm – 3:00 pm


March 21 Brilliant Birds (Guided Walk) – ALL AGES – Witty’s Lagoon
Birdwatching is a fun and rewarding hobby. Peer through spotting scopes and binoculars and discover some of our local birds on this guided walk with a CRD Regional Parks’ naturalist. Bring binoculars if you have them. Field guides and binoculars will be available for loan during the program. Meet at the nature centre off Metchosin Rd.

March 22 Nature’s Olympics (Drop-In Event) Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park – All Ages
So you think you jump higher than a flea or farther than a cougar? Drop by anytime between 11am and 2 pm at the nature centre in the main Beaver Lake parking lot and test your skills with a CRD Regional Parks’ naturalist.

March 24 The Amazing Race (Drop-In Event) for Ages 6+ at Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park
You won’t be racing around the world but you’ll have a lot of fun on this nature-based race through the forest. Register at the meeting place, grab a race sheet and test your wits and powers of observation as you tackle skill-testing questions throughout the park. Drop by anytime between 11am and 2pm at the nature centre in the main Beaver Lake parking lot.

March 27 Bear Necessities (Guided Walk) at Witty’s Lagoon – ALL AGES
Bears live in close proximity to us. Join a CRD Regional Parks’ naturalist who will help you discover more about the ‘bear’ necessities and how we can co-exist with these magnificent mammmals. Meet at the nature centre off Metchosin Rd.

March 27 – Close Encounters of the Natural Kind (Guided Program for ADULTS ONLY – FREE but PRE-REGISTRATION BY March 25 required) Francis/King Regional Park
Observing the natural world can be a rich and rewarding experience. This guided walk in the woods will give you some tools to enhance your powers of observation and get the most out of a nature walk. Carve some time out of your busy life for this guided experiential walk in the beauty of nature amongst the ancient trees of this magnificent park with a CRD Regional Parks’ naturalist. No fee but registration required by March 25.
